Junction and Aalto Ventures Program arrange a hackathon for a more sustainable future. The City of Espoo offers its own challenge to be solved in the event.

“We are deeply committed to UN Agenda 2030 and in achieving the SDGs. However, we cannot succeed alone but by doing things together. That’s the reason we’re part in this hackathon – to get fresh ideas”, says Ville Taajamaa from the City of Espoo.

One of the biggest challenges of urbanisation is how to involve citizens to urban development. How to make everyone feel that it’s possible to contribute to what our city looks like.

“So, here’s our challenge: How to engage, empower and inspire citizens to commit to solving the SDGs in Espoo. We would be thrilled to have solutions especially to ideas relating sharing and circular economy and to achieving climate neutrality”, says Taajamaa.

Solve the SDGs hackathon is arranged online on September 18–20. The participants have 48 hours to solve the challenges.
